Ana Lonescu is a sculptor whose practice is deeply rooted in the concept of materiality - its subtleties as well as the curious combinations that emerge through process. By exploring physical properties and their resonance, she seeks to uncover the poetic potential within. Shape, dimension, and ergonomics bring bodily and sculptural matter together. Juxtaposing these elements, and occasionally intertwining them with themes of abjection or fragility, the physical form becomes a manifestation of visual desire.
