Collection: Janosch Sinn

Janosch's work is rooted in constructing multisensory, fantastical worlds through mixed-media collages, sculptures, drawings, installations, fashion, and perfume. Using found objects, ornaments, jewelry, model figures, and anything else at hand, he creates artworks that depict landscapes and mythological scenes from an imaginative world he calls "Onaj." The process of world-building is central to his artistic approach—each piece is not just an isolated work but a fragment of a larger narrative. He invites viewers to engage deeply with these stories and aesthetics.

The essence of his work echoes the escapist nature of video games, sci-fi, and fantasy worlds, while also touching on deeper social themes such as queerness, identity, and the fluidity of reality. His art allows for a playful, childlike, guilty pleasure-like engagement with kitsch, encouraging viewers to lose themselves in these worlds while reflecting on their own experiences.

Janosch’s work offers a rich range of fantasy, mythology, and immersive storytelling, providing a multidimensional exploration of themes central to your exhibition. He strives to renew the fantasy genre with queer and diverse perspectives and invites viewers to step into the world of Onaj, to lose themselves in its aesthetics and stories, to reflect on the fluid boundaries between reality and imagination, and to question existing systems.
